Museo Automovilistico de Malaga

Museo Automovilistico de Malaga
Museo Automovilistico de Malaga (Av. Sor Teresa Prat 15, Málaga) – housed within the Fábrica de Tabacos building in Málaga, this museum (opened in 2010) showcases the vintage and modern car collection of Portuguese automobile enthusiast Joao Magalhaes. Also on display are cars of the future (those that run on alternative fuels): the solar car, the hydrogen car and the compressed air car.
This museum is very much about the car as a work of art, and includes models customized by famous painters. Sonia Delaunay, a French-Ukrainian artist and the first woman to have her work exhibited at the Louvre during her own lifetime, was a leader in the art of customizing. Sonia painted cars in bold, colorful designs inspired by cubism, providing customized models for BMW, Renault and Bugatti. This museum has on display a 1920 4cil 12cv-hp Unic in Sonia Delaunay style.
Admission: €8.50 (adult), €5.00 (seniors, students and Málaga residents). Free for children under 4 years. Hours: 10:00 am – 7:00 pm (Tuesday – Sunday) (closed on Mondays).
