Metro (Málaga) – for those visiting the regional town of Málaga, this local train service provides public transportation to its residents. To date, Lines 1 and 2 are in operation up to the El Perchel – María Zambrano Interchange. The next section to Guadalmedina Station will come into operation in the future (early 2020s), with the introduction of the Guadalmedina – Atarazanas section and the extension of Line 2 from Guadalmedina to the Civil Hospital. The starting train fare is €1.35
Both lines share El Perchel station in María Zambrano where you can also access AVE (high speed train), middle distance and regional trains, and RENFE commuter ( to go to Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola and other cities in the coast), and also to the Malaga intercity bus central.
